Watching more TED and I'm on the J.J. Abrams talk, and he is talking about his favorite scene in Jaws. You can catch it here.

But it put me in mind of my favorite scene from Jaws, where Roy Scheider pours himself a full glass of wine, in a 10 oz milk glass.

Awesomeness.

One of my favorite books growing up was Bring on the Empty Horses by David Niven, an autobiography of his life in Hollywood, full of amusing stories about Hollywood greats and their lives off camera. My mother had it on her bookshelf. Niven was an accomplished but not overly famous actor in his day, but he knew a lot of people and had a long career, and thus had a lot of stories. I have a theory, having read this piece by Wil Wheaton, that he might be this era's David Niven. He might have to meet more famous(er) people. Any other candidates?

Looks like I may need to go rent Out of Sight again. Huh. Good movie, for lots of reasons (Ving Rhames and Catherine Keener among them) but the Sexiest movie ever? And it beat out His Girl Friday? Aw man, not on my two bits!

You're only interested in watching this trailer if you know you are. Trust me. But if you know you are, it is... awesome.

This is the kind of movie I know I am going to like. Though that may be solely because it has Alan Rickman in it. Watch the trailer.
