It occurred to me as I sat with Ava on the couch on Wednesday morning and watched the replay of Obama’s acceptance speech that all she saw was “the President.” It wasn’t even a matter of color. Maybe *that* world will still be beyond even her reach. But it feels like we’re getting there.
