Wouldn’t it be cool if, ten years from now, smarties traced the end of Americans’ dependence on foreign oil to Apple products encouraging them to take the bus?

Social networking with GPS sounds interesting on the itouch. They are just in the speculation mode in terms of making applications that take advantage of the on board GPS. Staples has several displays with GPS devices that are also music listening devices. But they don’t have the apps store. I’m trying to get the most out of a second generation ipod by replacing the battery. It would be so cool if the touch had a card reader, say SD memory. $400 for a 32GB itouch compares with $200 for the PSP. The PSP is the most clumbsy texting device. I still think the touch is kind of small. I want the touch with twice the realestate. I tried a touch with someone that knew how to operate it and I was impressed with the user interface. The price to operate the iphone compares to what I pay for two cell phones now. Kind of out of my league.
