So, when Sarah Palin was announced last Friday, I almost immediately turned to my wife and said, “Wouldn’t it be funny if they did this just to get the news cycle away from Obama and the Democratic Convention, then pull a switch at the Republican Convention next week?” I’m especially interested because Sam Brownback, Senator from KS, is supposed to put Palin’s name into nomination.

Now, I’m not saying this was their plan all along, nor am I saying that this will happen, but with all the un-vetted bits spilling out of Sarah Palin’s past this weekend, I would not be surprised. Corruption, incompetence, inexperience… it really sounds like they didn’t bother to check on her before pulling the trigger (as it were). Like all they did was look at a photo of her. The Democrats have clearly made the decision to just get out of the way and watch Republicans implode.

But really, can you imagine the Republican First Couples eating dinner together? I mean, John and his “soulmate” would be fine, but what would Cindy and the First Dude talk about?

Well if The Dude can talk his way into Palin’s suit pants, surely he can work his way through Cindy’s drug-induced haze long enough for the Prez and Veep to solve the Iraq problem. Make mine medium rare.…

You sound so bitter. Were you hoping the Republicans would put up more of a fight?

I don’t think they’ve begun to fight. The upcoming convention should keep The DailyKos and HuffPo in material for the rest of the year, easy.

I had read that Rove nixed McSames VP pick Lieberman so he got desperate and went with a long shot to spite Rove. I guess we will see what BO does with this rhetoric from the convention. Palin seems like the antithesis of feministic thought. She is being compared to a dog by the RNC. That’s real thoughtful. I’m sure Nov 4th will end with the Supremes making another decision for the people. Either Florida or Ohio I would imagine will get all tied up. With some states going without a voter receipt recalls won’t always be possible. Or maybe the people will actually start making sense for a change and vote for Obama. I thought the RNC Convention was devoid of life in all aspects. Bush who? The press is sure anemic.

Soul mate.” Still shaking my head about that one. I’m afraid of Americans.
