Just another exam­ple of awe­some data dis­play ham­mer­ing home a point. This is a chart worth see­ing. Reminds me a lot of some of the best of Tufte’s work. Sim­ple, but unmis­take­able. Oh yeah, and did you see Bolt run the 100? As some­one said, Day-um. Via kot­tke, of course.

    After see­ing Bolt run his sub-10 in the 100 semis the other night with seem­ingly lit­tle effort, noth­ing would sur­prise me. Noth­ing. The cov­er­age of his 200 semis race is about to be broad­cast as I write this. Should be inter­est­ing.

    SFTD, but Bolt was just jog­ging that last 30 meters. Maybe, as John­son claims, Bolt doesn’t have the per­sis­tence to keep that pace he exhib­ited in the first 20 yards of this semi (did you see him blast Spear­mon out of the water?). If Bolt *does* have that sta­mina, Johnson’s record is going bye bye. That’s all there is to it.
