Just another example of awesome data display hammering home a point. This is a chart worth seeing. Reminds me a lot of some of the best of Tufte's work. Simple, but unmistakeable. Oh yeah, and did you see Bolt run the 100? As someone said, Day-um. Via kottke, of course.
After seeing Bolt run his sub-10 in the 100 semis the other night with seemingly little effort, nothing would surprise me. Nothing. The coverage of his 200 semis race is about to be broadcast as I write this. Should be interesting.
SFTD, but Bolt was just jogging that last 30 meters. Maybe, as Johnson claims, Bolt doesn't have the persistence to keep that pace he exhibited in the first 20 yards of this semi (did you see him blast Spearmon out of the water?). If Bolt *does* have that stamina, Johnson's record is going bye bye. That's all there is to it.
Like I said, "bye bye."
