We didn’t want to come back, but come back we did. Vaca­tion was glo­ri­ous, and the kids had a blast. 100° here, today. Why did I move South?

    Remem­ber the Christ­mas we went back to B.A.? The plane got there about 6:30 in the morn­ing, it was 95º out, with 95% humid­ity, and we all took a deep breath and sighed, “We’re HOME!” Noth­ing like the power of nostalgia.

    Dad and I often used to ask our­selves, “Why was it, again, that we wanted to leave San Fran­cisco?” And l feel that way in Long Beach too, till my eyes start to itch. I’m still aller­gic to the place, alas.
