That is an excellent point. At any rate, any warehouse but a warehouse in China, so as I see it you did your moral duty.

There's always a Touch Mark II in the offing, of course. September 19th 2006 was the day I finally freed myself of the tyranny of upgrade fear. I now figure if I'm going to buy some Apple gear, it's best to just get it and let the next-gen chips fall where they may.

Also, in my meager defense, this MacBook/Touch thing came out of nowhere for me. I certainly wasn't anticipating buying one for myself, but when a friend ordered a MacBook and didn't need the iPod, well, why let the little beauty languish in a warehouse in China somewhere, unloved?

Although one wonders if maybe a Touch Mark II could be in the not-too-distant offing. . . .

Very dangerously close to scoring a Touch myself. Don't have any use for the phone part or the ridiculous fees (do people really pay extra to send text messages for the love of God?), but the wireless, the Safari, the mail, the maps. Neato.

I think I am not out of place when I say:

Bastard.

All that talk about not getting an iPhone, about waiting for the peer pressure, about living without, giving me hope that I was not so far behind with my own iLife, and then you pull this stunt. I hate you now. Our friendship is over.

Oh, but... you, um, you don't know anyone else buying a Mac this summer, do you?

And the Touch came in the mail today, effectively quelling my iPhone desire for the time being. Imagine my delight at being able to sync my Google contacts with Address Book (as of 10.5.3). Huzzah!

OK, I'll comment, but I'm NOT following that link. No way. Uh uh. Not me. I recognize -- and accept -- that there may well come a point at which enough of my friends have an iPhone that I'll be forced to get one. Why, I witnessed Aprille lobbying Denny for one just the other day. Ben, then Aprille, then you...it'd be critical mass.
