Women politicians who are better than Hillary Clinton

In all my ranting about Hillary Clinton and her campaign, it has not escaped me that some may think I harbor some dislike of her because she is a woman. Let me state, categorically, that this is untrue. I firmly believe the world would be a better place if women ran things. Gabriel Garcia Marquez once noted that men had been given 10,000 years to make something of the world, and given their lack of success, it seemed like it was time to give women a shot. I wholeheartedly agree.

But not every woman. I used to like Clinton. But her actions over the course of this campaign have led me to distrust her motives, dislike her tactics, and question her character.

But in the spirit of positive action that I'd like this campaign to be about, I propose that we list the female politicians we know and like better than Clinton. Please join me in the comments.

Here in Kansas, I love our Democratic, two-term Governor, Kathleen Sebelius. Elected and re-elected in a red State, she recently stood her ground against the Republican majority on a coal-fired power plant issue. She's also been mentioned, a lot, as a possible Vice Presidential pick, and even as a Presidential nominee in the future.

We also have a recently elected Representative to Congress, Nancy Boyda, who had the fortitude to walk out on an Iraq War hearing because the General testifying was parroting the Bush party line. And she represents the District that includes Fort Leavenworth.

Who do you like?
