Won’t you comment, please?
Every blogger wants people to comment on his or her blog. That’s why we do this. We want to know you’re out there, listening. And while I have a nice stats package that shows me that I’ve had twenty unique visitors so far today, that is easily trumped by one actual comment.
But I have another reason to beg your involvement. A few days ago, I was perusing one of the feeds that I read, and I saw that my friend Mark (or as it turns out, his wife) put the movie I Am Legend in his Netflix queue. I was reminded that I had just seen the movie, and that I’d had a rather interesting experience watching it. So I blogged about it.
Mostly because I knew Mark would comment on it.
And he did. (Thanks, Mark!)
And as a result, I am faced with the fact that I am blogging for one guy. I’m choosing blog topics with the understanding that Mark will comment on them.
I find that a little pathetic of me.
So, I beg of you, won’t you leave a comment? Pretty please?

Interesting, then, that the IAL post was one of the first of yours in a long time that I was disinclined to comment on. What a crazy world we live in.
Also, you and I share — besides our general demographic similarities — common interests (same with Denny and our friend Ben; I wish they blogged more!). I comment for two reasons, really: 1) Because I’m interested in the things you write about (almost always ;)); and 2) Because I like the way you write, and I figure commenting is a way to encourage more posts. Like the proverbial rat hitting food dispenser (wait, which of us is the rat…?). Hopefully, the weight of my repeated comments won’t eventually serve to stifle your output. Maybe I should show some restraint.
Oh, God, no. Don’t do that. You’re the best friend I’ve never met. ;)
I’m not sure if comments would get me to blog more or not. It is one of my resolutions this year to re-vamp my site. As always, hope springs eternal.
Hah! I was wondering if you and Mark knew each other for flesh or if you happened upon each other through the interwebs.
Hi, I’m commenting.
Denny, I dunno, I comment on your blog just about any time you post anything, and it doesn’t seem to have worked. ;) Some people just aren’t bloggers. Doesn’t mean we wouldn’t like you to blog more, since we like you and what you think (and what you take pictures of).
Aprille, we actually happened upon each other via your web site. Really. It’s like you introduced us. You can give a nice toast at our wedding.
I’m actually not surprised. Once I introduced Denny to some friends of mine, they got very attached and started calling him instead of me. Of course, they think his name is Mecial, but that’s another story.
Anyway, I seem to be a good conduit for tender friendship.
I comment on your site, Danny. I worry I will say the wrong thing or too much on a blog. Blogging is one thing. I have to stop the habit of visiting the addicting on-line discussion at ABCnews.com (disney). I am getting to the point of being able to see the hate speech and avoid it, generally. But I notice I get tuned into the thing and my focus is into the discussion, especially if I post. There is a jolt of excitement to post to real-time readers and listen to their feedback.I could say more but I am probably boring someone..
So I am pulling back alittle.
I am reminded of the character Towlie in Southpark only I would say, “use your spell checker with every blog”. Good bye children.(aka Chef)
