Clinton collateral damage

I'm so pissed about what the Clinton campaign is doing to our country's chance to break from all the crap of the last eight (sixteen?) years, that it is starting to creep into my everyday life. I was listening to some music on iTunes today, and before I realized what I was doing, I had downgraded Fleetwood Mac's Don't Stop from four stars to three stars. Man, I used to like Bill Clinton.

Sadly, I think the democratic race is over. For some it is a cheery moment. Clinton is too far behind to make it a race. I don't see her spliting from the party like Jackson in 88. She is not doing any favors by being to picky with Obama. As soon as the fat lady sings I will be helping the democratic candidate against JM. I think I will read Dee Dee Meyers new book "Women should rule the planet" or something like that. She was terrific on MSNBC last night on countdown.

I am a firm believer that women should rule the planet. To paraphrase the words of Gabriel Garcia Marquez, men have had 10,000 years and made a mess of it. It's time for women to get a chance.

But we should not mistake this generality to mean that we should choose women to lead us despite other factors. Hillary Clinton is not the person to lead this country forward, whether she is a woman or not.

    In my opinion, of course.

Hey, there's an upside: You won't be hearing "Don't Stop" as often now. ;)

Either way. Hillary's song is some atrocity by Celine Dion. If I didn't give a fig about politics, that would still be enough to make me vote against her.

I guess I didn't need the song message so I have no idea what that is about. Dee Dee deflated what MSNBC was doing to H. Clinton last night. She didn't say anything about B. Obama. Jutta thinks the boys mentality is hard to break through at MSNBC. Myers also made some sense of the Clinton Campaign. I could say more but I know I would bore you. Let me guess, I do a search on youTube for Dee Dee Myers and I might find something like the clip from Countdown last night? Wish it worked that way. Technically, it could.

In football this is called hail mary time.I will watch the debates tonight. I'm excited maybe she will punch him. They're so much alike on content, different on style.
I saw a real candidate in Hillary.
She must be upset about frm PM Bhuto. I think she is brave.

David. Relax. Take a breath. I'm not sure what you're talking about. I'm guessing you're disappointed in how things appear to be turning out for Hillary Clinton's campaign, and you're venting here. That's perfectly fine. I'm glad her "The Press is all agin' me" approach is resonating with someone.

I think it might be a bit specious to compare Hillary Clinton to Benazir Bhuto. I don't think Hillary has seen the kind of conflict in her life that Bhuto did, I don't think she had to overcome the societal biases that Bhutto did, and I don't think she's in danger of being killed. At least not any moreso than a black man daring to run for President in this country.

    Yea, sorry I was venting.
    Your point is well taken.

Okay, so check out this interview on NPR with Emanuel Cleaver, one of the black superdelegates mentioned in the article Dave linked above. I was dumbfounded by this man, when he went on, and on, and on about how he was going to stick with Clinton because he had given his word, and because she is his friend. No mention of her politics, why she's the best for the country, just that he'd given his word.

What is this, Survivor? NPR got a response from two listeners that summed up my feelings exactly.

The issue was pressure on Clinton delegates to switch to Obama. They seem to ellude to some smear tactics and threats. I'm sure if Clinton was doing it we would hear about it. I don't watch survivor so I have to claim ignorance. I imagine it will be a mute point after March 4. But who knows what she is thinking or what the results mean. Til the fat lady sings...

yes, I like SNL and the two women that took a stance. I had a good laugh. What do you expect, a quiet women is not Hill.

I've been on posts defending Clinton and Obama from idiotic posts and the like.

I'm listening to you and will listen to the posts you mention. I think it is how you spin it.
