Two years ago, when I voted in Nebraska, not a single person I voted for won elected office.  This year, voting in Kansas, almost everyone I voted for won their race.

It feels good to win.  I know the margins are still razor thin, and the country is still divided down the middle.  But it is still a good day.

I am also glad to see, in the aftermath, that the Democrats aren’t claiming a mandate or any thing stupid like that.  Pelosi was remarkably conciliatory and upbeat about bipartisanship in her press conference this morning.  Of course, it could be (is) all political posturing.  Politics and politicians will always hew to form.  I have little expectation for real change (nee, risk) on the part of the Democrats, especially with the Presidential race looming.

But damn, I feel good today.
