Tonight is the first Presidential Debate. I am afraid. Reading this article in the Washington Post only makes me moreso. If this election has really come down to the debate(s), wouldn’t we be better off with John Edwards up there instead of John Kerry? He’s better in front of a camera, he thinks on his feet, he never missteps, he’s got that megawatt smile…

I worry.

So what did you think? I was very relieved that Kerry put on a decent performance. Personally I thought George Bush appeared to be a big stupid baby (“He keeps changing his positions!”), but I already thought that so it wasn’t anything new. My favorite part: Kerry saying that you can be certain about something, but be wrong! I heard this morning that the polls say undecided voters thought that Kerry won, but still preferred Bush. It’s enough to make you pull your hair out!

I agree. I was pretty happy with Kerry’s performance. I thought he looked quite presidential and was coherent and intelligent. Bush looked like a petulant, defensive, simpleton. I loved Kerry catching him in a strategic blunder when he claimed that we went to war because the enemy attached us. When in fact, as Kerry pointed out, Osama bin Laden attacked us, not Sadam Hussein.

Ugh!!!! Why would anyone vote for George Bush?!!!!!! I don’t understand it. Can someone please explain to me why so many people like George Bush?
