Good Edwards

Well. Wasn't that close.

Yes, Edwards is inexperienced, at least compared to Kerry (though not to George W. Bush when he was running for office, Tiffany was quick to point out). Yes, he isn't all that popular even in his home state of North Carolina (approval ratings about 40% during his one term as Senator). But he skews young, he looks good, he's articulate, and he can talk to the working classes from their point of view.

Kerry's campaign needed some energy, and Edwards will add that. Kerry needed someone from outside Washington, and Edwards is a D.C. neophyte. Kerry needed someone who made their millions, rather than inheriting/marrying it. Edwards was the first in his family to go to college. And Kerry needed someone who could run circles around Dick Cheney in the veep debate(s).

Edwards can do all that.

I hope it is enough.
